Junior cricket is played for boys and girls aged 8 and upwards. Junior cricket is played on Saturday mornings at various grounds in Toowoomba and surrounding districts, such as Oakey and Pittsworth. It commences around 8.30am and finishes approximately 11.30am.
For the younger grades the game is set up so that every player has a bat and a bowl to ensure they all get an equal opportunity to field in different positions.
Parents are most welcome to assist in the running of the game in fact they are encouraged to do so. Junior cricket should not be treated as a ‘baby sitting’ service. Your son/daughter would like you to be able to watch and assist in their development.
For those days when wet weather may or may not allow the game to proceed, an email will be sent to those registered with the Toowoomba Cricket outlining if the game has or has not been called off. The Toowoomba Regional Council also closes their fields in periods of very wet weather so as to not damage their fields. By registering with the TCI you will also be notified of events that may be happening over the course of the cricket season.
